Welcome to the Dear Pockets' Blog!
I use this space to share sewing projects and other parts of my life manager to sneak in here and there.
The name came from my love for making dresses with pockets. Although I've dabbled in just about every aspect of sewing, dresses are my favorite. I've made hundreds of dresses - no exaggeration! I made my own wedding dress and some other wedding items such as a densely beaded belt for a childhood friend. There were approximately 11,000 beads on her belt.
I have a passion for sewing and understand the importance of good construction and paying attention to the details. I've also gotten into heirloom sewing. I've been doing that since 2010. I'm knowledgeable about smocking as well as other past-time skills such as hand-embroidery, tatting (type of lace-making), silk ribbon embroidery and bead work.
